Catholic Social Service is grateful for the generosity of volunteers who have given us their greatest gifts of time, talent and resources to help us meet the human service needs in southwest Kansas! We have an ongoing list of volunteer opportunities for individuals, families, businesses and groups of all faiths and ages. Here are some of the ways that you can make a difference in someone's life, and maybe even your own.

Carpenter/Handyman ~ Dodge City

The Catholic Social Service office in Dodge City sits on a large and unfinished basement. We are looking for a carpenter/handyman who can finish the flooring, walls and ceiling of this basement so that it can be used for the Teen Mom's program and store, for counseling sessions, and for some of our other programs and services.

Data Entry Assistant ~ Great Bend

Catholic Social Service is in need of a volunteer who can help us enter some handwritten information into the computer before we are no longer able to read the aging and penciled entries. This is a good job for someone who is organized, detail oriented, and comfortable with basic computer database programs.

Teen Mom Meal Provider ~ Dodge City

Meal providers are needed for the Teen Mom's program on Wednesday evenings, beginning in the month of September and ending in May.This is a wonderful ministry for whole families to be involved in. Volunteers who sign up for this ministry should plan to provide a meal for 20 people, and bring it to Room 22 at Newman University in Dodge City by 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday evening; you are invited to stay and eat with us. Teen Mom Staff will take care of drinks, table service and clean up. To sign up for this volunteer opportunity, please call Amy Falcon or Maria Gutierrez at 620-227-1562.

Teen Mom Mentor ~ Dodge City

Mentors are a vital part of the Teen Mom program. A mentor is a woman who makes a one-year commitment (approximately 10 hours a month) to befriend one of the young women in the Teen Mom program, and to help her be successful in meeting her goals. Mentors help teen moms to overcome the odds; it's an opportunity to really make a difference in a young mother's life.

Benefit Bank Counselor ~
Southwest Kansas

When an individuals or families reach the end of their rope economically, the paperwork that they must fill out to get some help may seem daunting. Catholic Social Service welcomes volunteers who can help our clients fill out the SRS application for food, medical, cash and child care assistance. Training is available.

Marriage for Keeps Instructors ~ Southwest Kansas

Marriage for Keeps is a free 10-week educational class for couples who want to strengthen their marriage. The class meets once a week and covers topics such as communication, stress management, problem solving, commitment, and more. Catholic Social Service welcomes English and Spanish-speaking couples who can facilitate this class. Training is provided.

Event Volunteer ~ Great Bend

Catholic Social Service welcomes volunteers for all stages of an event: event planning, decorations, sponsorship, gift acquisition, registration, merchandise pick-up, various committees, and more. Catholic Social Service events have included the Monte Casino Event in Dodge City, and our Annual Wine Tasting Event in Great Bend.

Prayer Volunteer ~ Southwest Kansas

If age or disability makes it difficult to leave home, but you would still like to volunteer, consider being a prayer volunteer. Offer prayers for our agency, staff, and for the people we serve. Please let us know if you choose to be a prayer volunteer.
