On October 6, 2010, our very own Rebecca Ford presented Raising Green Kids for the Teen Moms Discovery Workshop. This workshop was fascinating! Rebecca demonstrated how we can conserve in the areas of water, electricity and waste. Most of us were unaware that there are so many simple, inexpensive things we can do to cut down on our waste. She showed us different types of light bulbs, different ways to insulate our homes more efficiently as well as several ways to cut down on our water use. She brought lots of gadgets with her, which everyone loved! Some of the items were more expensive than others, but were still fun to look at! Rebecca also brought a composter with her, which was very interesting! Most of us were not aware how this worked, so it was fun to learn about it. The students each received information from CREW about what they can recycle in Dodge City.
